What type of duties does a cashier associate perform?
A cashier associate is usually expected to assist a main cashier in handling transactions at a POS system. This may include scanning purchases, counting purchased items, providing customers with information on price ranges, instructing baggers on how to bag items appropriately and calculating sales discounts.

What type of skills does one need to work as a cashier associate?
One of the main skills that an individual need to work successfully in the position of a cashier associate is the ability to make accurate calculations. In addition to this, it is imperative for cashier associates to understand and be able to work on standard and complex POS systems, and also understand the dynamics of both cashiering services and retail assistance.

As far as sales work is concerned, what has been your experience?
Before I took up the work of a cashier associate, I received training in many areas, including as a sales representative. I am quite knowledgeable about customer services and contact, product demonstrations and aftersales services, and can effectively handle the work of a sales associate.

What does good customer service mean to you?
Customer satisfaction means the world to me as a happy customer is a repeat customer. I always go the extra mile to ensure that customer satisfaction is guaranteed.

Why do you want to work in a retail environment?
Working in a retail environment is quite challenging which is why I love working here. I wouldn’t want to work in an arena that offers no challenges.

Where do you see yourself 2 years from now?
I’m working hard to position myself as a head cashier in a retail environment, and I believe that I will be able to manage this within the next 2 years!
