6 Special Agent Interview Questions and Answers

All interviews that you have been through in your career lifetime must have been absolutely different from one another.

While all interviews are designed to gauge if a shortlisted candidate actually has the strengths and qualifications that he has boasted about in his cover letter and resume, each interview is a unique product of the interviewer’s brain.

The aim of discussing this is to provide you with insight into preparing for each interview process in a focused manner.

1. What brought you into the field of special investigations?
I had been working as part of a law enforcement agency for 4 years, in an administrative capacity before my supervisor realized that my potential was in special investigations, as I did a lot of research work for them. One thing led to another, and I ended up in this role 2 years ago.

2. What interests you the most about this work?
I get an adrenaline rush every time I am presented with a problem that I have to solve. The constant challenges keep me interested in this work.

3. What is your particular way to investigate a case?
I have different methodologies that I use when investigating different cases. The basic operating procedure is to delve deep into collected evidence, and then determine the various possibilities for investigation that this analysis provides.

4. How would you define a weakness that you have, which may stop you from focusing on your work?
I am a perfectionist, which means that I am almost never satisfied with the end result. However, I have recently discovered that this keeps me from becoming complacent about my work. As far as focus is concerned, even my worst weakness (if identified) cannot keep me from being focused!

5. How do you cope with the imminent perils of working as a special agent?
I am an extremely self-aware and cautious individual. I understand the dangers associated with this work and always take great measures to ensure that they are kept at bay.

6. Where do you see yourself professionally in the next 5 years?
Where this work is concerned, the sky is the limit! I intend to lead a special agents’ force on an international investigation project, once I have all grounds covered in my present role.
