No experience in the accounts payable arena is a problem only if you let it become one.
When you write a cover letter, hoping to acquire an Accounts Payable position for which you have had no experience, your tone is what matters the most.
If the tone of your letter radiates confidence, you will be judged as someone who knows his / her work.
If you write confidently, you have a better chance of making a positive impression on the hiring manager. And that is basically what a cover letter has to do – make a lasting impression on the person who will decide your employment fate.
By starting off your cover letter in an upbeat and positive manner, you are doing yourself great favors – and the hiring manager, by not boring him to death with dreary opening lines.
Once you are done with your cover letter, read it several times to make sure that you sound enthusiastic and come across as a person who is a “go-getter”. If you don’t sound this way, rearrange your sentences to make yourself do so!

For a short summer commission at the school office, I was hired for 4 weeks to assist with processing invoices and entering them into the accounting database, which provided me with great exposure to the world of accounting.
