1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I have been working as a landscaper for more than 6 years. Before that, I was a gardener in a residential community. My interest in landscaping arose while I was working there. I wanted to go a notch above, and since my aesthetic sense is excellent, I decided to train as a landscaper.
2. What duties have you performed in the role of a landscaper?
As a landscaper, I have been busy performing many duties, including groundskeeping and maintenance work. Mowing green areas, and ensuring that they are maintained in an aesthetically pleasing way is also part of my work. Also, I have been performing specific landscaping work by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes. Applying fertilizer and pesticides is also part of my work.
3. What skills do you possess which make you an excellent person to hire as a landscaper?
I am a physically strong individual, who can handle demanding work quite easily. Apart from this, I am well-versed in determining and applying lawn treatments. In addition, I am well-versed in maintaining mulch around shrubs and flower beds. The ability to develop plans of action based on landscape layouts is also a great strength. And I am competent in keeping weeds growth at bay.
4. What do you like most about working as a landscaper?
I like the fact that I get to work outdoors. I love working in the sky, and this gives me a great opportunity to do what I love.
5. What do you dislike most about this work?
When I have planned maintenance or planting work but the weather is not suitable, which makes me quite upset.

I am not much for conflict. I believe that a smile and a positive attitude can resolve all issues.

I am a highly organized individual, so I plan my activities in a way that rest periods are properly managed. This way, I do not get tired too often and can reach my goals every time.

My biggest weakness is probably my need for perfection all the time.
10. Tell us of your biggest achievement as a landscaper.
I was once asked to redo an entire golf course within 3 months, which was quite challenging because of the sheer expanse of the area. However, I managed to meet my target by putting in double shifts at times and getting the course ready just in time for the opening.

I believe that a work environment where people do not work against each other is perfect.
12. Have you ever worked in a perfect environment?
I have worked in near-perfect environments. I also believe that perfect environments do not exist.
13. What is the most difficult part of working as a landscaper?
The most difficult part of working as a landscaper is getting clients to agree on a certain landscape because it is in sync with nature.

I do whatever I can to tell them how a landscaping project will look best. If they agree, the work proceeds how I want it to. If they don’t, it proceeds how they want it to.
15. How do you handle difficult clients?
I am an extremely easygoing individual, so difficult clients are usually not difficult for me. On rare occasions that they are, I make sure that I listen to what they have to say, and not fly off the handle.
16. Do you think communication skills play an important role in landscaping? Why or why not?
I believe that communication skills play a pivotal role in landscaping. This is because unless you can understand what a client wants, and can make them understand what is possible and what isn’t, nothing ever goes right.
17. Have you ever worked in a permanent landscaper position in any company?
Yes, I am currently employed in a permanent position. I handle the gardening aspect of the work as well.
18. Do you like working alone, or in a team environment?
I do not mind working in either environment. I feel that teamwork is important when you have to cover vast land areas. Working solo on smaller projects is not a problem either.
19. Have you got any training as a landscaper?
Yes, when I began working as an apprentice, I was trained about the various work process involved in landscaping work.
20. Why do you want to leave your current landscaping job?
The facility that I was working for shut down due to the prevailing global crises.

I can join you immediately, as I am between jobs at the moment.
