I am a passionate fish cutter with 2 years of firsthand experience in fish cutting and filleting. I am interested in working in a fish cutter capacity to fully utilize my skills in this arena.

2. What specific duties have you performed in this role?

As a fish cutter, I have been responsible for many tasks, including cleaning and cutting seafood products. Specifically, my work revolves around cutting fillets, shucking shellfish, and cleaning and preparing seafood for cooking purposes.

3. What specific skills do you possess as a fish cutter?

I am highly knowledgeable about fish selection, and preparation procedures. Maintaining and cleaning prep stations is also a great skill. Along with this, I possess in-depth knowledge of preparing high-quality seafood dishes that align with the facility’s standards,

4. What do you like most about this work?

I like my work from every angle. I feel that this work allows me to do my best in many ways, and that is always quite encouraging.

5. What do you dislike about this work?

I do not dislike anything about this work, as it provides me with a chance to work in a capacity in which I excel in.

6. In your current workplace, do you feel stressed when you work in this role?

Not at all. In fact, I have never felt any kind of stress at the workplace, as I know I am good at what I do.

7. How do you handle adversity at the workplace?

I am generally a calm individual, which makes it easy for me to handle adversity. When an adverse situation transpires, I sit back and reflect on it before I react in any way.

8. Describe your perfect work environment?

To be honest, a perfect work environment does not exist – one has to make it as conducive to working productively as possible. I strive to make my workplace as productive as possible, which is what I find perfection in.

9. Tell us about a time when you handled a difficult situation like a professional.

Not too long ago, we received a shipment of prawns that were partly spoilt. It took me an entire workday to separate the good boxes from the bad, which I handled like a pro.

10. What is your greatest strength?

My greatest strength is my ability to stay committed to my work at all times.

11. What is your greatest weakness?

My greatest weakness is perhaps an inherent will to do much more than I can physically perform.

12. Why did you choose to work in this industry?

It initially began as a part-time job, right after high school. Then, I realized that I enjoyed the work immensely, and was quite good at it. So, I decided to advance my career in this industry.

13. Tell me about a time when you had a conflict with a coworker.

The time when we received the bad shipment, my supervisor told me to let it be, as it will be a huge hassle to separate the bad boxes from the good ones. However, I was adamant about doing what was right, even if it took me longer. But my supervisor was not happy and ordered me to do what he said. I had no choice but to involve HR, as playing with customers’ health is not something that I would ever do. It did become a bit ugly, unfortunately.

14. Why do you want to leave your current job?

I feel a bit saturated here, as most of the work that I am doing is repetitive. Since it is a smaller concern, with not much room for growth, I would like to switch to a place where I can utilize my skills in a more profound manner.

15. Why do you want to work for our concern specifically?

I have been following the expansion of your concern for a very long time, and feel that this is the right place for me to grow, and for my abilities and skills to be utilized properly.

16. What motivates you?

I am highly motivated by work environments that are conducive to the successful application of skills.

17. What demotivates you?

I am usually not in a state of demotivation as I am a self-motivating individual.

18. What has been your greatest accomplishment?

I believe that my greatest accomplishment has been to work for 2 weeks, without a single day off, following a huge order that we received.

19. Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

I am highly ambitious where my work is concerned. At this point in time, I see myself at least partly owning a seafood business.

20. Do you have any questions for me?

I am quite intrigued about the business model that you are working on, and would love to have some insight into it.
