What has been your experience as a professional dog groomer?
I have received training as a professional dog groomer and have worked as one for over 6 years now. I find the work oddly satisfying and love every moment that I spend in the company of my canine friends.
What are some of the main duties that you have performed in this role?
As a dog groomer, I have been actively involved in bathing pet dogs, handling fur styling work, ensuring that dogs’ fur is trimmed properly, and that their nails and teeth are kept clean and free from disease.
What skills do you believe are absolutely necessary to work as a dog groomer?
I believe that one needs to be an animal lover if this is the work that one wants to do. Deep knowledge of typical dog behavior, different breeds of dogs and their specific attributes, the ability to handle and restrain dogs during grooming sessions, and exceptional insight into ensuring their safety and well-being are some of the skills that one needs in order to do justice to this work.
Has any untoward incident ever happened while a dog was under your care?
No major untoward incident has ever transpired while a dog was under my care. However, small incidents do occur on a regular basis which I handle with ease.
What are your 10 year professional plans?
I am not just a dog groomer – I am a dog lover too. Within the next 10 years, I hope to establish a shelter for homeless dogs who have no way of surviving the streets.
