Position Overview
A fabrication machine operator is hired in an industrial setting, where his or her primary duty is to ensure that assigned machines are properly operated and that products going through those machines retain their integrity.

Position Requirements

• Take orders from supervisors on a daily basis, and read them to determine which fabrication machines have been assigned.
• Set up and calibrate assigned fabrication machines at the beginning of each shift.
• Ascertain that any issues or problems are communicated to supervisors, and fixed immediately.
• Read blueprints to determine the shape of objects that need to be produced on fabrication machines.
• Set controls for speed and feed rates, and load machines with materials.
• Monitor the cycles of fabrication machines and ensure that any dynamic ones are catered to.
• Diagnose and repair minor problems and issues in assigned fabrication machines, ensuring that downtime is minimized.
• Inspect finished fabricated pieces to ensure that they are produced according to specified instructions.
• Identify and communicate any defects or non-conformities to the supervisor in an immediate manner.
• Perform both preventative and regular maintenance on fabrication machines, to ensure that they are kept up and running at all times.
• Ascertain that all work areas are properly cleaned and maintained on a regular basis.
