Household Manager Cover Letter Sample

Updated on: April 11, 2021

Skimpy, generic cover letters bring neither glory nor notice. Pledging to write cover letters that hiring managers actually read will lead you to the path of success.

If you have sent a resume and a cover letter for the household manager position but have not heard from the employer in some time, chances are that something went wrong.

You could have written a cover letter that did not stir the hiring manager’s inner reader. It is time to switch to the practice of customizing your cover letter every time you send it out.

If you have not been able to find out the hiring manager’s name even by calling the company, you may need to resort to writing “Dear Sir or Madam”. However, if you have been successful at this stage, chances are that you will be successful later when the hiring manager reads a cover letter that is directly addressed to him or her. The first step is done – on to the next!

Clearly stating the reason why you are writing to them will make things easier for the hiring manager, and he is more likely to keep reading. If you confuse or bore him in the first sentence, you can say goodbye to your chances of employment with this particular company. Think of imaginative ways of reaching out to the employer without coming on too strong.

Dear Mr. Baker:

“It has been an absolute pleasure to have someone like Avia working for us. Her energy, intuitiveness and detail-orientation is a breath of fresh air in a world where conscientiousness and hard work have become myths…”

This is an excerpt from a reference letter (enclosed) issued by my last employer. As a dedicated and hardworking individual, I am positive that I can provide you with the same level of meticulousness and hard work as I have to my previous employers.

In a household manager role, I am known for the following traits:

• Competent at hiring, training, and overseeing the daily work activities of household staff to ensure smooth work operations
• Proficient in managing household calendars and family members’ schedules
• Adept at handling bookkeeping and accounting tasks to effectively manage household budgets
• Skilled at coordinating the details of special family events such as birthdays and anniversaries

Realizing that your schedule may be busy, I will call you later in the week to determine when we can meet in person and discuss my qualifications in detail. If you need to contact me for any additional information, please call me at (777) 777-7777.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
