Facilities Manager Skills for Resume

The first thing that a recruiter zeroes in on when looking through a facilities manager resume is the skills section.

The reason why skills are considered so important is that one cannot do without them to work – that is, if one wants to work well.

There is one problem with most skills sections on resumes though.

Most of the time they do not say much about what the candidate is capable of. Instead, they talk about what duties he or she has done in the past.

This information in the skills section is hardly helpful. The reason why this happens is the fact that people tend to confuse job duties with skills, clubbing them together to make statements that are incoherent and useless. Try not to make this mistake.

If you are unsure of how to word a skills statement, look it up before you construct one for your resume.

Usually, 4 to 6 skills statements are considered sufficient in one resume.

If you feel that you need to write more, do so but stop before it can be considered overkill. Here is how to word skills statements for a facilities manager position:
