13 Interview Questions for Positive Attitude

You are sure to face behavior related questions in an interview for any position.

Employers tend to look for candidates who have a positive attitude by which they can fit in their environment with ease.

Maintaining a positive attitude continually is a very rare trait, which is why employers prefer that they hire people who can keep the right mood with their seniors, co-workers, or customers.

Interviews are usually tricky, and people on either side of the table can find themselves in strange positions. Why is this so?

Well, if you look at it from the interviewer’s point of view, he or she is looking for the right candidate in the minimum of time and is struggling to put forward the right questions.

Candidates, on the other hand, are struggling to provide the right answer.

Both need to be prepared before the interview.

If it is a positive attitude that an interviewer is looking for, the candidate should be prepared to make the interviewer happy.

So what possible questions can you ask (or be asked) to test a positive attitude?

  1. If there is a half glass of water in front of you. Is it half-empty or half-full?
    (Half-full means positive thinking)
  2. If you dine at some cafe and the waiter pour a cup of hot coffee on you. How will you react?
  3. If you need some assistance from your coworker but s/he refuses on the spot. What will your response?
  4. Recount a time when you had to cope with a particularly stressful situation and how you handled it.
  5. How do you deal with out-of-job-scope demands by supervisors or customers?
  6. Have you ever encountered a time when you dealt with a hostile person? How did you manage the situation?
  7. Highlight a stressful situation in which you were required to keep a positive attitude despite the odds being against you?
  8. Have you ever bought two or more difficult people together for a project? How did you deal with it?
  9. Provide an example when you used logic and reasoning to persuade another individual that you were right about something.
  10. Specifically, describe a situation when you delegated work to a problematic subordinate. How were you successful in it?
  11. Leadership can be quite a difficult thing to handle. Have you ever been in a situation that put your leadership skills to the test?
  12. Have you ever had an opportunity to provide a demanding task to a group of people who were reluctant to take it up? How did you manage to convince them?
  13. Have you ever shown initiative in doing something that needed to be commenced from the very beginning?
