My skills have always been most profound when looking after people. The satisfaction of helping people lead better lives, and to make it easy for them to move through the day is what made me decide to work in this capacity.
What are some of the main duties that you have performed as a direct care provider?
I have worked as a direct care provider for 4 years, during which I have performed many duties. These included assisting patients with personal tasks such as toileting, bathing, and grooming, and ensuring their overall wellbeing and safety.
Also, my duties included running errands such as paying bills and shopping for groceries, and accompanying patients to doctors’ appointments, and at social events.
What skills do you possess, which make you an excellent direct care provider?
I believe that one has to possess a vast array of skills to be able to work in this capacity. As far as my skills are concerned, I am well-versed in providing personal assistance to patients, while maintaining their dignity.
Also, I am competent in reaching out to them to ensure that they understand the importance of self-care. Besides, my ability to handle emergencies concerning patients is exceptional.
What do you don’t most annoying about this work?
I love my job thoroughly and do not find it annoying one bit. In fact, it is most satisfying to be able to help another individual.
As far as physical strength is concerned, where do you rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10?
As you can see, I am a big guy. My physical strength is part of my offering as a direct care provider since lifting and moving patients is all part of the work. I would give myself a realistic 8.
