Ophthalmic Assistant Cover Letter No Experience

Updated: December 10, 2018

Even if you have no experience of working as an ophthalmic assistant, you still can write a rocking cover letter.

Book knowledge and correlating training will help you make a mark for yourself.

Recruiters will need to know how well you know the work.

In fact, your knowledge of preparing patients for examinations, and performing ophthalmic tests should be highlighted.

It is important to realize that lack of experience does not translate into a lack of skills. And it is the latter that a recruiter wants to know you in a cover letter – your skills in maintaining instruments, as well as ensuring that examination rooms are in good condition.

When writing for an entry level cover letter for an ophthalmic assistant position, you must focus on what you have learned in medical school. Any associated internships or training will be a plus point.

A cover letter sample for this position is what follows here:

Mr.Gerard Butler
Human Resource Manager
Eye Health America
2084 Saint Paul Road
Eagan, MN 21037

Dear Mr. Butler:

I have recently graduated from medical school, with a degree in ophthalmology. At this point in time, I would like to offer my services to Eye Health America, in the role of an ophthalmic assistance. I am positive that my skills set can be honed to your requirements.

During the course of my degree, I opted to obtain an internship at Crystal Run Healthcare. This, I believe was a great decision at my end, since I learned quite a lot about patient preparation and examination room activities.

Gathering medical records as well as patient information, and accurately punching it into facility systems is my niche. Moreover, I am well-versed in taking ocular measurements and administering eye drops.

At the time of my internship, I also learned ways in which ophthalmic instruments were cleaned and maintained. Apart from this, my skills lie in acting as a scribe while ophthalmologists examine patients. In fact, my knowledge of entering data into electronic systems is quite advanced.

I feel that I will be a credit to your facility due to my ability to handle both patient and administrative ends of the work.

Positive that a meeting between us will be fruitful to both, I will contact you next week to set up an interview. Meanwhile, you may reach me at (000) 999-9656 if you require further information.

Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Natalie Portland
