Marketing Interview Follow-up Email Sample

So the interview is done, and now you are waiting for a response from a prospective employer.

What does one do during this time?

If enough time has passed since the interview and you still haven’t received an answer, you can write an email to find out the interview status.

Doing so will let you know if you should wait further or look for another position.

Interview status is not all that you can find out through a follow-up email; this is your opportunity to thank the interviewer for his or her time in interviewing you thereby providing them with another “eyeful” of your application.

Remember that interviewers are busy people as they interview hundreds of people for one position.

It is easy to overlook promising candidates for a job, so a follow-up email might help them focus on your application once again and decide in favor of you.

You can also use this opportunity to reiterate your skills and qualifications for the job.

While there is no set format for writing an interview status email, you should keep it short and precise.

All you need to do is find out where you stand. Following is a sample of an interview status email that you can use to write your own.

Dear Ms. Jose:

Please allow me to thank you for taking out the time to interview me for the position of Marketing Manager on March 5. It was one of the most insightful interviews, and, I am now even more enthusiastic about becoming part of ABC Company’s team.

During the interview, you mentioned that you seek someone who could lead the marketing project. As I said, I have had considerable experience in conducting complex marketing projects. I believe I am quite capable of handling the intricacies that this is likely to project.

At this time, I am interested in knowing the status of my interview as I have full of energy to work for a company that is progressive yet understands and respects customers’ sentiments as was evident from what you detailed in the project. If you need any further information from me that may help edge my application on, please feel free to contact me at (000) 999-0000.
