1. Tell me a little bit about yourself.
I have worked with youth groups and facilities for the last 10 years. This interest stemmed from a report that I read about the insufficient support that young people have, which eventually led me to research more, and start working in this capacity.
2. What duties have you performed in the role of a youth program director in the past?
As a youth program director, I have a wide array of duties to my name. These include determining the requirements of diverse youth groups and creating and implementing solid programs for them. Overseeing the efficacy of each youth program is also part of my work. Additionally, I have been busy administering budgets for all programs, and ensuring that staff members are properly trained and supervised.
3. What skills do you think a youth program director should possess?
I believe that a youth program director must possess compassion and empathy before anything else. Apart from this, they need to be able to determine exactly what youth groups need in terms of support. Moreover, they should be able to handle problems and issues, before they convert into crisis situations.
4. What do you like most about this work?
Being in a position where I can help people when they need it the most gives me a great feeling of success. That is what I love about this work.
5. What do you dislike about this work?
I love this work from all ends. However, it does make me sad when I am unable to provide assistance to young people who are beyond my limitations.
6. How do you handle adversity?
Adversity is quite common when you are working with this age group. I take it seriously because I do not want anyone to get hurt. However, I do understand that hormones and other situations take a toll on young minds, so I tread carefully.
7. What is your greatest strength?
My greatest strength is my ability to create and implement youth programs even when the going is tough.
8. What is your greatest weakness?
I feel that I try too hard at times. While it does work out well in many situations, but at times, it keeps me from focusing on more important things.
9. How good are your leadership qualities?
I have been deemed as an excellent leader and mentor by my supervisors, and those who have worked under my wing.
10. Describe your ideal work environment.
I feel that an ideal work environment is one in which everyone is focused on a common goal.

I am happy to say that I have worked in such an environment, but only because I made sure that I made it perfect.
12. Why do you want to leave your current job?
I feel that there isn’t much to learn now that I am the top of the hierarchy. I love learning new things, and facing new challenges each day, and would love to work for an organization that can provide me with both these.
13. Why do you want to work for us particularly?
I am interested in working for your facility specifically as I feel that I will be able to grow and contribute much here.
14. Have you ever worked on capacity-building programs?
As a matter of fact, capacity-building is one of the core areas that I am presently working on.
15. What is the one thing that you would like to change your present place of work?
I would like them to focus a little more on the individual needs of each participant.
16. Tell me about a time when you did something outstanding.
My present place of work had all other facilities, but none for abuse rehabilitation. I managed to convince them that they needed to add that as part of their work and helped them set up everything. The number of people who enrolled made me realize how right I was about the people in the city looking for just such a facility. It gives me great pride to have headed this project.
17. Have you ever had to deal with an emergency?
Many times. The most recent one was when a group of young individuals decided to make a secret cult and were involved in self-harm. Thankfully, I noticed signs of trouble before anyone was seriously injured, and put a stop to it immediately.
18. If we decide to give you a chance, when is the soonest that you can join us?
I will be handing in my resignation on Monday and can join you as soon as my 30-days’ notice period is up.
19. What are your 5-year plans for the future?
I have a long list of work that I want to do in a youth program capacity. I hope to complete all of them within the next 5 years.
