AML Cover Letter Tips

Writing an AML cover letter is complicated, which is why it is essential to make sure that the effort you put in is solid – and can be seen by the hiring manager. Cover letters have to be profound in the information that they provide so that they can convince hiring managers to consider you as an excellent candidate to hire.

Before you get down to write a cover letter, you have to make sure that you know what it is that you have to show off.

Do not show off just what you are – show off what you can do for the person reading the cover letter, and his or her company.

This way, you are telling a hiring manager that you have the skills to do what he or she wants you to. And become a favorite candidate.

The following sample will tell you how you can word your cover letter:

Mr. Steve Coleman
Human Resources Manager
Capital One
780 Ocean Avenue
State College, PA 05231

Dear Mr. Coleman:

Your recent posting for an AML Specialist fits my qualifications, and I am writing to express my interest in the opportunity.

My present place of work highly values my ability to analyze and monitor various forms of potentially suspicious transactions. And this is the prime reason for me to have climbed the ladder from an intern to an AML specialist so quickly. Hoping to provide Capital One with the benefit of my experience and competencies, I urge you to read the attached resume.

Reviewing clients’ transaction that may violate anti-money laundering or economic sanctions, monitoring alerts, communications, and workflows is an area that I have cut out a niche for myself. Demonstrated expertise in handling various data analytic tools used in AML processes in financial services organizations, along with a solid ability to correlate and extract data from multiple sources by using tools such as SQL and other report writing are also areas in which I am exceptionally talented.

Collaborating with peers to evaluate output metrics and suggesting changes to transaction monitoring rules based on sound statistical sampling and trending data from both internal, and external sources is also an area that you will find me to be exceptionally proficient.

Confident that you are looking for an AML specialist who possesses exceptional operational management skills, and can effectively conduct, review, and evaluate potential findings, I will contact you soon to shed light on why I feel that I am such a great contender for this job. In the interim, I will be available at (000) 444-4444.

Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Emma Hudson
