It is impossible to impress a recruiter using an ordinary cover letter for a Church Administrative Assistant Resume.

For one, your cover letter will be checked for uniqueness of content. If it looks anything like a sample on the Internet, you are a goner. While you can take ideas from samples, copying word for word is not recommended.

Technology has found its way into everything. It is a good thing. And at times, not much good.

Because of this influx, you are now more than ever under pressure to write something new so that you can show for the skills that you have. But it is not as disastrous as it seems!

If you have it in you, it cannot be too difficult to put it in writing. You are your own best advocate!

Thinking of applying for a church administrative assistant position? Let’s see what attributes you have that can make you a good candidate for the job:

• A member in good standing
• Administrative acumen
• Conscious of the need for confidentiality
• Good at multitasking
• Good communication skills
• Extreme attention to detail
• Conscientious work ethics
• Composure and flexibility

Can you put all these into a cover letter? Let’s try:

Mr. Bruce Warner
Pastor
First United Methodist Church
37 Della Drive
Florence, KY 28283

Dear Pastor Warner:

As a member in good standing for the previous 15 years at First United Methodist Church and an individual capable of meeting the work standards set by the church, I believe that I am a good contender for a Church Administrative Assistant position.

From my performance track record and letters of recommendation, you will see that I can offer exceptional office management skills. With a dedicated commitment to exceeding performance expectations, I have been responsible for the following at Cavalry Baptist Church:

  • Increased children’s (under 10 years of age) interest in church activities by creating and implementing religious educational programs.
  • Decreased paperwork by 80% by converting church records into electronic records.
  • Amplified church’s message through increased outreach religious programs.

Because I am well-versed with the mission and vision of First United Methodist Church being its member, I am confident that my contribution will be more profound than that of an outsider. I will stay back after Sunday service next week so that I can talk to you personally about my qualifications. In the interim, you can reach me at (000) 222-2222.

Thank you for taking out the time to consider my application.

Sincerely,

Ian Thorpe
