Aiming for writing near-perfect cover letters is as good as intending to write a perfect one.
It is virtually impossible to write a perfect cover letter for hse officer position because everyone has a different definition of “faultless”.
So you have to target writing one that is exceptional when it comes to information and relevance – two things that are universal in cover letter writing.
Most employers like to receive cover letters that have a conversational edge to them. Stuck up or overly professional cover letters fail to impress employers of this century.
When you write your cover letter in a conversational tone, you are going one step ahead to provide an insight into your professional being. And that works exceptionally well for employers who are looking to hire someone on whom they can spend minimum time, effort and money in training.
Negativity should never be shown in a cover letter. If you have a skill, show it off – if you don’t have one, don’t say that you don’t; just ignore the fact! If you are applying for a creative job, you can play with different fonts and colors in your cover letter, if you are sure that it won’t be taken negatively, but it is always better to stick to a standard font and color.
