Nurse Technician Position Overview
Nurse technicians are hired by hospitals to provide specific personal care to patients. They are usually assigned a unit of patients whom they have to look after during their shift.

• Assess patients’ physical and mental conditions by thoroughly going through their histories
• Talk to patients to create a relationship based on trust and determine what makes them comfortable
• Provide support with bathing, toileting, grooming, and washing
• Assist patients with mobility by providing physical support and/or pushing wheelchairs
• Transport patients to and from examination and surgical rooms
• Administer douches and edemas and take blood and other body fluid samples for diagnostic purposes
• Administer medication according to each patient’s medical charts and ensure that they are fed properly and on time
• Take and record patients’ vitals such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
• Provide prompt and accurate services such as CPR and First Aid during emergencies
