A cover letter is a document that should not be taken lightly. It is perhaps your only avenue to reach the employer – the resume helps but it is often ignored if the cover letter is not good enough.
A tad unfair perhaps, but that is the way things are. And if winning a prospective employer’s favor is what you want, you must make sure that your cover letter is a sizeable one.
There are many ways to make a cover letter that can work for you. The easiest one is to fill it up with information that the employer is sure to take no notice of.
What is this information?
This is content that is pertinent to the job description that the employer has provided in a job advertisement. If the employer gets what he is looking for, he will not bother looking elsewhere and will call you in for an interview immediately.
So how exactly do you ensure that your cover letter hits the employer where it will matter the most?
Write what he wants to read and you will never have to wonder how to impress him or her.
Here is a cover letter sample to help you along:
Sample Cover Letter for Surgical Coordinator Position
Trisha Snipes

Farmington, NM 12010
November 8, 2022
Mr. Barney Lopez
Hiring Manager
Mercy Hospital
96 Yucca Avenue
Farmington, NM 07800
Dear Mr. Lopez:
The need for coordination in a hospital setting is perhaps most profound in a surgical room, where even the slightest of discoordination can lead to terrible consequences. Bearing this in mind, I offer my services as an experienced surgical coordinator who has had vast exposure to working in busy surgical units.
Specifically, I excel in the following areas:
- Room Preparation
- Patient Education
- Surgical Charts Preparation
- Post-op Kits Preparation
- Appointment Scheduling
- Instrument and Equipment Sanitization
- Clinical Surgery Backup
- Pre and Post-operative Appointments Management
While I have worked largely in these areas, my expertise is not limited here. With exceptional proficiencies in arranging patient transportation by ensuring patients’ physical and emotional well-being and deep insight into documenting surgical procedures in a clear and organized manner, I do not doubt my suitability to work as a surgical coordinator at Mercy Hospital.
I would like to meet with you to discuss how I can contribute to your hospital. I will contact you next week to arrange a meeting but if you need to contact me before that, please feel free to do so at (000) 120-1241.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
