TV News Anchor Cover Letter Sample

Updated on: September 17, 2018

There is something about cover letters that can either make or break your chances of being successful at getting the job of your dreams. And that something is the content that it holds.

When you write a TV News Anchor cover letter, the way in which it is articulated is what makes it worth the hiring manager’s while – or not!

In the beginning, it may seem as if cover letter writing is easy. It’s not. You have to do a lot to ensure that your cover letter is the best that a hiring manager has seen. It is possible if you first figure out what your specific role will be.

Once you know this, you can match your skills with the needs of the hiring manager, and then place them in a cover letter. Here is a cover letter sample for a TV news anchor position to help you out in writing your own:

Mr. Charles Bones
Human Resource Manager
RR 1
9023 12th Street NE
Bethany Beach, DE19397

Dear Mr. Bones:

I would like to offer my services to RR 1 in the role of a TV News Anchor, as I am sure that I have much to offer. CBC has been my home away from home since I began working as a journalism intern 12 years ago. Since then, I have come a long way, and have cut out a niche for myself in this work – I am proud to say that I am well-known in the industry due to my often mindful and accurate take on news pieces on live television.

Over the years that I have worked as a news anchor on television, I have not merely read the news verbatim. Possessing a journalism background, I ensure that I get to the bottom of each story or news piece that I have to present, and make sure that it is verified. Developing stories, and making sure that they are presented in a proper manner to the masses is an area where my strengths are most prominent – I have been commended on my ability to reach out to my audience and keep it engaged throughout the presentation.

My resourcefulness and the ability to go the extra mile to perform research on pieces that need to be presented is something I am sure you can use at RR 1. I will contact you soon to determine what time and date suit you for a meeting between us. In the interim, I can be reached at (000) 888-8888 if you need any further details to process my job application.

Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Haley Samson
