So what are the components of a resume written for a carpenter position? Let us break the resume down here:

How to Write a Resume for Carpenter Job?

 Professional Summary

This is the most important part of your resume simply because this is where it all begins. A good opening is important. Using phrases such as knowledge of residential and office blocks construction and remodeling trades and quality control will make the reader take notice. Use as many carpentry related words and phrases that are appropriate here. Make sure your professional summary is aimed at how you can help the employer.

Skills and Competencies

In this section, you have to highlight your knowledge of carpentry. If you have remarkable skills in studying blueprints and planning your work accordingly, mention it. If cost control and safety precautions are something you excel at, make sure this section possesses this information. Try not to leave anything out which is relevant to your competencies and skills.

Accomplishments

Okay now, this part is extremely important. Mentioning your achievements in a previous job tells a prospective employer how well you can perform. Look back and reflect. What have you accomplished? Have you created a complex wooden piece within record time? Did you reduce the costs of materials by suggesting buying in bulk? All this must be part of your accomplishments section.

Work Experience

Where accomplishments tell an employer what you have achieved in the past, the work experience section tells him what you do every day as part of your job description. Do not leave anything out no matter how trivial it seems. List your job duties in a carpenter role and substantiate them as much as possible.

Education

Do not bother writing everything from a high school diploma to a master’s degree. For most carpentry jobs, a high school diploma or a GED is sufficient so just mention that you have one. Do not forget to supply information regarding the high school which you attended and the year you passed out as a high school graduate.
