1. Tell me a little about yourself.

I hold a bachelor’s of law degree from ABC College New York. I started my career in law 7 years ago, right after I got my degree. After working in corporate law for 3 years, I realized that my niche was actually in family law. I have been working as a family law attorney ever since.

2. Tell me something about the duties that you have performed in this role.

As a family law attorney, I have performed a wide array of duties, including interviewing clients to determine their specific case details and providing advice to help them. To be specific, I have been busy overseeing and managing issues transpiring between clients and their family members, and have been supervising mediation sessions. Apart from this, my work includes organizing and recording all official documents required to file cases, and helping staff members prepare extensive case briefs. Moreover, I have been involved in overseeing family estates and wills.

3. What are some of the skills that you possess which make you an excellent individual to hire as a family law attorney?

I am an extremely compassionate individual, who can go to depths of cases quite easily, and with a lot of enthusiasm. I am also well-versed in creating cases based on facts derived from clients, and can effectively handle more than one case at a time. In addition, I am adept at upholding a steady schedule of conferences, court appearances, and hearings.

4. What do you like most about this work?

I love the fact that I get to help people who are in odd circumstances with their own families and relatives. It gives me great peace to be able to do this.

5. What do you dislike about this work?

I do not dislike the work, to be honest, however, I do have issues with children being at the receiving end of things. When I have a case involving children, it always makes me a bit sad.

6. What is your greatest strength?

I believe that my greatest strength is my ability to handle many cases at the same time while paying due diligence to all.

7. What is your greatest weakness?

I have been told that my greatest weakness is my inability to stay detached from my cases. However, I feel that one needs to be able to feel what they are feeling in order to give clients the kind of help that they need.

8. Describe your perfect work environment.

I do not believe in perfect work environments. I believe that one needs to make one’s environment as conducive to success as possible. A successful work environment is one in which all team members work together to achieve a collective goal.

9. What do you find most challenging about working as a family law attorney?

I find it challenging to handle adoption cases, as making the right decisions, and providing sound advice is a bit tricky.

10. Tell me of a time when you did something outstanding.

I was once working on an adoption case, where a couple was looking to adopt a little girl. A few years earlier, their own little girl had been kidnapped, and it was quite an emotional moment for everyone. While connecting an orphan girl with her family, I had a nagging feeling that something was not right. I got permission to have a DNA test done and was delighted to find out that the orphan girl was actually the couple’s own daughter who had gone missing some years ago. I believe that this was truly an outstanding moment in my professional, as well as personal life.

11. Can you recall a time when you disagreed with someone at the workplace?

Workplace disagreements are all in a day’s work for us. There was this one time when the disagreement went a bit overboard as the case that I handled was that of a paralegal’s uncle. The paralegal wanted it to go another way, but I could not let personal interest dictate the terms of the case. An argument transpired, which I managed to handle with great professionalism.

12. How do you keep personal interest from generating during a case proceeding?

Keeping your personal feelings away from a case is not easy, and takes years of practice. Initially, I was always on edge because I couldn’t manage it. Eventually, I learned how to keep my feelings in check and ensure that the surface only when it is good for a case.

13. If we want to hire you, when is the soonest that you can join us?

I am working in a freelance capacity at this time. I have one ongoing case that I need to finish which will be done within a week’s time. I can join you within 10 days from now.

14. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself heading my own practice within the next 5 years.
