Peer Counselor Cover Letter Example

A cover letter can do many wonderful things. It can give a hiring manager a reason to shortlist you, and call you in for an interview.

On the other hand, it can also be your downfall, mainly if you don’t write it the way it is supposed to be written. Cover letter writing does not have any specific rules, except the language and format.

The rest is up to you to decide. What you want to write in your cover letter is at your discretion, but it is important that you understand what must go into it.

When you write a Peer Counselor cover letter, your focus should not be yourself – it should be the person reading it, and the company where you are applying for a job. When you provide hiring managers with information on what you can do in sync with what is important to them, you end up writing a rocking cover letter.

Dear Mr. Garcia:

I am interested in speaking with you regarding a Peer Counselor position with your organization. My aspiration to assist people who have trouble dealing with mental health disorders is quite well-placed. I have been working as a peer counselor for 5 years now, and initially took up this work because I felt that I was exceptional at it – and I have not disappointed. Over the years that I have spent working in this capacity, I have been highly successful in assisting my clients with rehabilitation and promoting personal growth and development.

I am especially interested in providing my skills in a peer counselor role, as I feel that I have the capacity to hone into clients’ problems and provide them with required solutions in a profound manner. Also, my ability to reach out to even the most introvert of clients is exceptional, as I have ways to penetrate their facades, aiming to help them quickly deal with their issues. Creating and implementing core counseling and support programs to meet the individual needs of each client is my forte, as is the ability to handle crises situations such as self-harm incidents.
