To be honest, occupational hazards are evident everywhere. I don’t think that they are more prevalent for a person working as an electrical line worker than for a person working in the office. It is just how you handle things that matter. I like this line of work, which is what made me decide that this is the work that I wanted to do.
2. What have been your main duties while working as an electrical line worker in the past?
As an electrical line worker, I have been assigned a lot of work including laying out electrical lines for both underground and overhead systems, maintaining and repairing electrical lines and systems, and ensuring that downtime is minimized through regular checks and balances.
3. What skills do you possess that make you an excellent person to work at this position?
I am a physically dexterous individual, who has no qualms about working on great heights or well below ground level. Additionally, I am well-versed in accurately and efficiently installing and maintaining electrical systems and lines, and can handle emergent work in a quick and efficient manner.
4. What is your take on safety?
Safety goes two ways when you are working as an electrical line worker. It is important to take both your own safety and that of the public seriously. I have always taken serious measures to ensure both, and have no record of major accidents or incidents to my name.
5. How do you feel about working in the great outdoors?
I love working in the great outdoors. This is one of the reasons I decided to train as an electrical line worker.
6. Where do you see yourself professionally in the next 5 years?
I am hoping to study further and cut myself a niche in electrical work. A few more years of working in this capacity will give me a wider view of where most of my strengths lie so that I can pick up a degree program to enroll in.
