Therapists work in different capacities depending on their training and background.

There are speech therapists, physical therapists, and disability therapists. The term “therapist” is used for mental health care professionals who help patients with stress management and mental health problems.

Therapists use dialogue and medication to help their patients lead a normal or near-normal life.

They are trained to manage stress and depression for their patients and are expected to be successful with all their patients although that may or may not be the case.

If you are a qualified therapist, you may be interested in the following cover letter sample that caters to the needs of an applicant applying for a therapist job.

Therapist Cover Letter Writing Guidelines

Writing a compelling cover letter for a Therapist job is an essential skill.

You should write your letter in a way to be able to catch the attention of the hiring manager to get your desired job.

It is not a good idea to write a single cover letter for a therapist position and send it to many employers; nearly every hiring manager recognizes a duplicate or copied cover letter. Therefore, it is crucial to build a new cover letter for each company you apply.

Dear Ms. Clarke:

Being responsible for someone’s positive mental health is a fulfilling job, which is why I decided to pursue my career as a Therapist. This enthusiasm coupled with my keen psycho-analysis insight has been the secret of my success as a therapist over the last five years. I was recently involved in the Mental Success Summit held at the New York Auditorium which provided me with even more insight into what mental health is all about.

I have always been easy to talk to which is why clients – I prefer to call them clients instead of patients – are at ease with me. Spending time with a client to understand what their needs are in terms of stress management and warding off depression is my specialty, and I try hard to make sure that I work them through their distress by talking to them instead of prescribing medication.

Equally well-honed is my knowledge of prescribing medication for cases that cannot be handled with dialogue only. I am of the opinion that I have much value to add to your facility as my vision is not barred by societal pressures and the taboo with which people treat mental health issues.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
