What do good guest services mean to you?

When you are working in the hospitality industry, specifically a hotel or a resort, providing exceptional guest services is the main idea behind anything that you do. Provision of excellent guest services is something that I highly concentrate on.

As a guest services supervisor, what have been your main duties?

Working as a guest services supervisor, I have been actively handling a wide array of duties including directing guest services staff members, assigning them to appropriate locations, providing one on one services to patrons/guests such as check-ins and check-outs, collecting and processing payments, preparing work orders for housekeeping staff members, and handling records management work.

What skills do you possess, which make you a great contender to work as a guest services supervisor?

I possess great leadership skills which were the prime reason for me being promoted to this position. In addition to this, I am highly knowledgeable about the inner workings of the hospitality industry and can handle adverse situations with exceptional ease and diplomacy. Additionally, I am well-versed in handling front-end operations, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality services to guests, aimed at obtaining repeat business.

How do you balance your work priorities?

For someone who is working in a supervisory role, and that too in a hospitality environment, it is imperative to be able to juggle priorities effectively. I make sure that the most important work assigned to me is done first – one that may have a negative impact on guest services if I don’t prioritize it.

Why did you choose to work in the hospitality industry?

I have always found the challenge of working in the hospitality industry to be great motivation since there are great milestones (guest satisfaction and repeat business primarily) to achieve.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

While I am still in a learning phase, I am working hard to obtain enough knowledge and experience to eventually climb the ladder to the position of a guest services director.
