1. Tell me a little bit about yourself.

2. What specific duties have you performed in the role of an event specialist?

As an event specialist, my work includes determining what clients require in terms of types and sizes of events primarily. Specifically, I determine clients’ specific needs and then provide them with correlating event management solutions. I also create and manage corporate event calendars, and develop concepts. Moreover, my work includes coordinating logistic elements and organizing marketing materials. Also, my work includes creating budgets and estimations and handling payments effectively.

3. Tell me something about the skills that you possess.

I am a highly creative individual, who can work on any kind of event with great ease. In particular, I am well-versed in keeping within clients’ budgets to ensure that they are given high-quality services. I am also competent in setting up and taking down displays and can effectively evaluate the effectiveness of event marketing campaigns. Moreover, my skills in working with vendors and suppliers are excellent.

Event management is a series of small things that make up a big thing. All these small things are very important, which is why it is impossible to highlight just one which is more vital than the other.

10. Tell us about your most successful event.

The most successful event that I managed was a movie premiere, with a turnout of 2500+ people. Each detail of that event was meticulously handled. Nothing went wrong, as all participants did exactly what they were supposed to be doing. The event was in the news for a long time for its excellent turnout, great detailing, and no muck-ups.

11. What does failure mean to you?

To me, failure is just a step forward. When an event goes wrong despite my best efforts, I feel bad obviously, but I also see it as an opportunity to learn what I did wrong so that the mistake isn’t repeated.

12. How do you handle unhappy clients?

One thing that I have learned from working in event management is that you can never make everyone happy. When a client is unhappy, I do all that I can to determine what made them feel that way as far as work is concerned, and then try to handle the issue as best as I can.

13. As far as vendor relations are concerned, how good are you?

I feel that I have almost aced vendor relations. Even with the dynamics, I can safely say that working with vendors and suppliers is a piece of cake for me.

I am excellent at coordinating all aspects of events, ensuring that no detail is left uncovered.

15. Have you ever had to work with a coworker with whom you did not agree? Tell us what happened.

I was once working with a colleague to set up a children’s birthday party event. There were these tall pillars that were part of the décor. I wanted to buy the best ones to ensure sturdiness. He told me that we should go with the cheapest ones as they were as aesthetically pleasing to the eye. My argument with him was that we will be putting children’s physical safety at risk if we did this. After an initial argument, he agreed with what I was saying.

16. Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

I see myself heading an event management organization, with many event managers working under me.
