Sample Recommendation Letter for High School Student

Updated on: December 25, 2022

As a recommendation letter writer, you are actually providing an integral service for a student who aspires to work formally, right after high school.

Your recommendation can either make or break his chances of acquiring the first job, so it is your responsibility to make sure that you write a glowing one.

If you feel that you are not in a position to write a recommendation or the student isn’t worth one, you can always decline to write one.

In the event that you do decide to provide a recommendation letter, you will need to look at things quite closely. Chances are that you know the student inside out and that is why you have been asked to write a recommendation. If that is the case, you will need to make notes about what you will be writing. Since it is a job that you are recommending him for, you may not need to emphasize too much on the student’s academics. However, mentioning that he or she has been a good student will help in this case.

Focusing on the student’s ability to get along with people from different backgrounds and his honesty and ethics, will work wonders for his chances to gain employment. Here is how you can do this:

To Whom It May Concern

I am writing to recommend Jessica Twain for the Administrative Assistant position. Jessica has graduated from Robinson High School with distinction in all her subjects – and is now ready for the world of employment. As her principal, I have seen many examples of her talent and have been long impressed with her ethics and diligence.

As someone who has exceptional organizational skills and an inherent polite manner, Jessica will be a credit to whomever she decides to work for. As part of a special food and nutrition project, she developed core menus for people suffering from autoimmune disorders; this menu was bought by the leader in providing dietary counseling in New York – Diet by Design, bringing her and our school much acclaim.

If you are looking for someone who is polite, hardworking, and a go-getter to work for you, Jessica is the obvious choice. Having consistently demonstrated an ability to rise to challenges, she will be an asset to any organization where she is employed.

Please feel free to contact me if you require any further information regarding Jessica’s suitability to work for your company.

Sincerely,
