1. What are a few important duties that you have performed in the role of an asphalt laborer?

As an asphalt laborer, I have been performing many duties such as cleaning and clearing work sites, preparing asphalt, and cutting and shaping asphalt blocks. Also, my work involved filling cracks and holes, using the right mixtures and tools. Moreover, I have been busy erecting signs, cones, and barricades in order to control traffic around construction areas.

2. What skills do you possess which make it easy for you to work as an asphalt laborer?

I possess an amalgamation of skills, such as knowledge of spreading and smoothing asphalt on assigned surfaces, and performing finishing work. In addition, I am well-versed in choosing the right tools and equipment to handle asphalt spreading work. Knowledge of preventative and regular maintenance on equipment and tools is also a strong point.

3. What is the one skill that you depend on highly when working in this role?

I depend quite highly on my ability to learn new things in a short period of time.

4. What has been the hardest project that you have worked on?

The most difficult project that I have worked on to date was a recent one, where I had to oversee the work of 20 other laborers, in the absence of a supervisor. It was hard not because of the work itself, but because of inclement weather. We were living onsite, and the constant pressure of deadlines along with bad weather conditions made it difficult to work properly.

5. How do you handle the pressure?

I am an organized individual, which makes it easy for me to handle work processes so that they do not become problematic. Thus, I am able to handle pressure in a positive manner.

6. Tell us of one accomplishment that you have to your name.

in my present place of work, I am responsible for introducing the concept of preventative maintenance, as a result of which, equipment breakdown has decreased by 70%.
