Mechanical Engineer Cover Letter No Experience

Updated on: July 1, 2019

Cover letter writing to apply for a mechanical engineer position (at the entry level) is not the easiest.

For one, this is a technical job, and as a newbie, you have to convince the hiring manager that you are the best amongst the rest.

Typically, your cover letter should hold information on your ability to monitor and analyze mechanical devices for problems, and develop systems to ensure that they remain in a constant state of working.

Technically, your cover letter should highlight the many ways in which you will be an asset to an organization, through your knowledge of mechanical engineering.

It is important to note that at the entry level, you have nothing but skills to offer to an organization. But if these are properly outlined in your cover letter, you will go places.

As a mechanical engineer, your focus should be on telling the hiring manager that you know the work best. Here is how you can convince him:

Dear Mr. Lipton:

My interest in mechanical engineering stemmed from a lone incident when I was quite young. Since then, I have done nothing but aspire to work as a mechanical engineer, and have recently obtained a degree in this regard. Now, I would like to offer the benefits of my knowledge to The Roberts Group. Please go through the enclosed resume for further details.

As a passionate individual, with an exceptional ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, I am sure that I will be a great asset to your company. Knowledge of researching and analyzing customer design proposals and specifications is my forte. And I possess an unmatched ability to research, design, evaluate, and maintain mechanical products, systems, and equipment.

Furthermore, I am highly talented in investigating equipment failure to diagnose faulty operations and to provide suggestions for repair and maintenance. If you look through my resume, you will notice that I possess a great ability to oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of machines and equipment, ensuring that downtime is minimized.

It would be an absolute delight to meet with you in person, in order to further discuss my suitability for the job. Please feel free to call me at (000) 120-0023 if needed.
