Hiring managers want to know what you did while you stayed at home. At this point in time, the applicants need to show what it is that you are capable of doing.

Typically, you should outline your abilities and skills, and how you have kept them polished over the time that you were not working actively.

 

 

Moreover, it is imperative to highlight what you were doing in the past – that is, if you want to continue doing it in the future.

Also, shedding light on how well you kept up with the world while you were hibernating is important too.

I saw your advertisement in the newspaper, regarding the open position of a grade 2 class teacher at St. Thomas School. Since then, I have been contemplating applying for the job, as I feel that I am well-qualified for it. My resume is attached for your reference.

In 2012, I took some time off from working as a teacher, as I was moving to Burlington from Stowe. Since then, I have kept myself updated about the curriculum of classes 1 through 4, as I was also homeschooling my children. In addition to this, I helped the neighborhood children with their homework, which gave me great insight into how schools work nowadays. As a result of this exposure, I believe myself to be the perfect person to hire as a grade 2 teacher at your school.

Above all, I am exceptionally well-versed in handling school events such as annual plays, presentations, and sports galas. My skills in managing student behavior in class and playgrounds are well-placed. As a rule, children under my wing know their boundaries and limitations, while flourishing academically, socially, and cognitively.
