Reaching the interview stage may seem like a cause for celebration but you are not shaking hands with success yet.

In fact, this stage is quite cumbersome, as you have to prove (yet again) that you are a good contender to hire. And convincing the interviewer that you should be hired is not the easiest thing in the world.

While you may have effectively reached this stage because the hiring manager thought that your resume and cover letter were perfect, you may not be interviewed by the same hiring manager who felt you were so awesome. Prepare yourself for this situation.

In the event that the human resource/hiring manager is not the same person who will be interviewing you, you will have to redo the convincing part.

By providing correct responses to the questions that are put to you, you can do this.

Here is a heads up on how this can be done:

Staffing Consultant Interview Questions and Answers

1. What is the one thing that a staffing consultant really has to “be” to be able to work successfully at this position?

A good judge of character, I would say. It is imperative for a staffing consultant to be able to gauge an individual to the core so that he or she can effectively see if the person is capable of performing the job that will be entrusted to him or her.

2. What duties have you performed in a staffing consultant role in the past?

As a staffing consultant, I have been working closely with hiring managers to develop appropriate recruitment plans for open positions, overseeing posting processes, sourcing qualified applicants, screening suitable applicants, coordinating and overseeing scheduling and logistics necessary for candidate interviews, and providing referral services.

3. What set of skills do you think are necessary to work as a staffing consultant?

A staffing consultant needs to be an insightful person so that he or she can effectively interview and administer evaluations to determine the skill levels of candidates. Also, the ability to select the right candidate to fulfill client job orders, the capability of maintaining ongoing contact with clients and candidates, and the ability to identify temporary and direct hire opportunities are just some of the skills that a staffing consultant requires.

4. As far as working with human resource managers is concerned, what is your specific experience?

I have worked extensively with human resource managers by identifying and sourcing potential candidates to build a solid candidate network through various networking strategies.

5. What networking activities are you most experienced in?

Career fairs, professional association meetings, and partnering with professional schools are just some of the networking activities that I am well-versed in.

6. Five years from now, where do you see yourself standing professionally?

I would eventually like to run my own recruitment agency, something that I am working towards quite diligently.
