Home health aide (HHA) cover letters are placed on top of resumes and are often the first documents that prospective employers see.
The basic idea behind writing a cover letter is to personalize the job application process. As a matter of fact, a cover letter should state the specific skills that you have, that are essential for the position that you are writing it for.
Do the same principles apply to entry-level cover letter no experience?
Yes, they do. In the entry-level cover letters, the need to make a good impression double, simply because you do not have much else except your communication skills to rely on.
Look at it this way; the purpose of a letter is to interpret the data-oriented, factual resume (that you have enclosed) and add a personal touch.
Each cover letter that you write, for each position that you apply for, should be done bearing this in mind.
Be creative when you write a letter. Employers read several job applications in a day and you want yours to stand out.
An ordinary cover letter will lose the employer’s interest before he has had a chance to gauge your skills.
Use professional language and emphasize your skills (and experience) by letting them know how you will benefit the organization.

Dear Ms. Ray:
I am writing to apply for a home health aide position at Corso Care. I learned about this position through my friend John Doe, who is working as a CNA at Corso Care.
As a recently certified home health aide from the American Institute of Home Health Aid Programs, I offer extensive skills and knowledge in the following areas:
- First Aid, CPR, and AED
- Providing assistance in activities of daily living
- Cardiovascular disease management
- Needs management for older adults
- Psychological and emotional support
- Nutrition and hygiene
- Health promotion and maintenance
Through my 10 months of volunteer experience at CareSense Home Health, I developed compassion and exceptional bedside care skills. Throughout my work, I had been commended by many patients and families owing to my dedication and commitment. I take my work as a new challenge every day and that is why I am never pulled down by stressful days.
I feel confident that I have a lot to offer your organization, and look forward to discussing my candidacy with you at an interview. I will email you next week to follow-up on my job application.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Christine Bishop
