Home Health Caregiver Cover Letter Sample

Updated on: May 1, 2022

You may get many chances to prove your worth to a prospective employer, but your best bet is still the cover letter that you write to apply for a home health caregiver job.

Every other time that you will be judged, it will be based on the first impression that you made through the cover letter.

This means that you must consider your cover letter as your base (and most important) document to apply for the job.

Look through the prospective company website and the specific job description provided by the recruiter.

Both will give you an idea of the company culture and will provide you with insight on how to present yourself in a cover letter.

Try to emulate the language of the employer – in this case, the language of the job advert and the website.

The more you align the two, the better your chances of gaining employment – or at the very least, reaching the interview stage.

Nothing is more important than highlighting your success story as an employee.

You can take two avenues here – either, you provide details of your qualifications to support the fact that you are well-suited for the job, or you show off your accomplishments.

Better yet, amalgamate both!

Imagine the result – a profoundly written cover letter such as the following:

Mr. Peter McBeal
Hiring Manager
Visiting Angels
700 Andrew Way
Maryville, TN 55332

Dear Mr. McBeal:

If you are looking for a home health caregiver who is experienced in providing relief to family members through exceptional ability to handle patients in an in-home setting, then I am your person. I present myself as a compassionate, kind, and reliable individual who effectively looks after children, adults, and geriatric patients.

Please refer below for details on major accomplishments (amongst many others), that I have to my name:

• Successfully rehabilitated a young patient who had suffered a stroke, by providing him with dedicated in-home care and assisting him through daily rounds of physical and emotional therapy.
• Reversed a dementia patient’s (7 on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the high end) memory loss by engaging her in mental exercises, through visual aids.

As one of the most sought after (and certainly not self-proclaimed) home health caregivers at Maryville, I am positive that I will receive many commissions while representing Visiting Angels.

I would like to meet with you soon so that we can discuss my qualifications and experience, and see how they sync with your requirements. I will contact you next week – if you need to reach me, please feel free to do so at (000) 142-8544.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Samara Jennings
