A cover letter is required to be perfect, as it is necessarily a measure of how perfect you are as a candidate.
However, writing a perfect cover letter is not such an easy thing to do. The pressure is immense, as one is aiming to impress a hiring manager, in a situation where many others may have already done the deed.
But there is no need to get discouraged. Hiring managers look through cover letters to find needed information, and this information can be communicated if what you write is spot on with what he wants to read.
There are no tricks to writing cover letters. However, you can come quite close to being “spot on” by going through the specific job description that a hiring manager has posted.
This study will give you a solid idea of what he wants, and you can write your cover letter accordingly.

Maintenance Planner Cover Letter Example
March 8, 2018
Mr. Chris Harris
Human Resource Manager
The New Security Company
173 Lap Road
Auburn, AL 92833
Dear Mr. Harris:
“Well-organized” does not even begin to outline how well-suited I am to work as a maintenance planner at The New Security Company. With my comprehension of creating and implementing maintenance schedules and strategies, your company will not need to look further!
As a maintenance planner, I have been quite busy the past few years, ensuring that potential delays and problems are minimized, and in most cases eliminated, through proper planning in obtaining materials and equipment for maintenance projects. Since I am a perfectionist by nature, I leave no stone unturned to make sure that my work is properly carried out, and that workers do not suffer for lack of proper resources.
In my previous role as a maintenance planner, I was known for creating and maintaining a positive liaison and balance between maintenance and operations departments, ensuring that plannable maintenance work is organized correctly. My insight into this work is exceptional, as is my ability, to oversee that the fruits of my labor are well-received and well-placed.
I am confident that my skills as a maintenance planner will be quite welcome at The New Security Company, where I am sure I will be able to contribute profoundly. I will contact you at the end of this week to see if you may have a time slot free to meet with me next week. If you need to contact me in the interim, please feel free to do so at (000) 521-9565.
