Creating a schedule is most important when you are working from home during coronavirus outbreak. You have to make sure that you have a piece of paper in from of you, which outlines timings during which you will be working, and what times you will take breaks. Make sure that your children (if they are young) are comfortably set in an environment where they are so busy that they do not interfere with your work.

Choosing a peaceful environment for yourself is imperative to your success in working from home. Choose a room that is away from the rest of the house – a study or a den will be great for this purpose. Consider this room as your office.

Bring your critical gear with you. Depending on the nature of your work, make sure that you have your pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, and whatever else you need with you. If your work requires you to have equipment with you, consider investing in duplicates.

Treat your day like any other workday. Even though you will be working in an environment completely different from the one that you are used to, pretending that you are working at the office is crucial to meeting deadlines. If you do not have reduced hours, consider working on your previous work schedule. If you are working on reduced timings, make sure that you finish your work in accordance with your new schedule.

Communicating more often than you usually do is vital when you have just begun to work from home. Since many things will be confusing for you, and other people who you work with, it is important that you talk to them more often. Using tools such as Hangouts Meet, and Zoom and other similar applications will help you stay in touch with your coworkers, supervisors, and subordinates.

Technology plays a dynamic role in your success in working from home. A good Internet connection and a fast computer will help you meet your deadlines more efficiently. You need to remember that many people will be using technology to while away their time, as they are locked up inside during the pandemic. Internet may be slow – a backup internet connection should be arranged so that your work isn’t affected.
