Dear Ms. Dennis:

I came across your advertisement for the position of a grounds worker, and believe that I am a suitable candidate because I have six years of dedicated experience in this field. Working in the great outdoors is always such positive motivation for me.

As an apprentice at Enterprise Inc., I managed many grounds keeping activities and was quickly promoted to the position of a grounds worker owing to my hard work and knowledge of horticulture practices.

During the time that I worked as a groundskeeper, I found many challenges especially those posed by nature. Possessing the ability to work in extreme weather conditions (and actually enjoying it!) has been my greatest asset. With this exposure, I have gained useful experience that would assist me in meeting the challenges of everyday maintenance work, especially in adverse weather conditions.

I can safely operate both hand and lawn mowers along with other grounds maintenance equipment such as edgers, clippers, weed-eaters, and blowers. Moreover, I also have a working knowledge of performing irrigation task and able to perform efficiently work without supervision.

Furthermore, I am proficient in laying new paving slabs and fences and can also undertake some sewer pipe repair work. My resume will provide you with more information regarding the varied tasks that I can perform.

I will call your office to ask for an interview where I will be able to discuss this in detail. Please call me at (003) 333-3333 if you need any more information regarding my eligibility for this position.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
