Event Worker Cover Letter Sample

How much truth is in the following statement?

A cover letter is your chance to discuss your personal life and feelings.

There is absolutely no truth in this statement.

A resume should be enough space to talk about your professional and personal life. A cover letter should talk about your intended employer, and how he or she can benefit from the splendid benefits you offer.

No way should you ramble about your feelings and long-term ambitions unless they correlate with those of the employer.

You may think that you are doing the employer great favors by talking about how great you are, but the employer will only think of you as boring.

Crafting a good cover letter for an event worker’s resume is entirely under your own control.

If things go wrong, you have only yourself to blame, so make sure that you do not fail in impressing the hiring manager through the words and phrases that you use in your cover letter.

Here is a sample for you to follow:

Ms. Simone Trevor
Hiring Manager
Memoire Events
965 7th Street E
Purchase, NY 105777

Dear Ms. Trevor:

Who knows the amount of effort, time, and resources that are put into setting up an event, more than someone who has done it every day of his life for the last 4 years? With a great deal of exposure to handling events as big as corporate launches, to as simple as birthday parties, I have done it all. In view of this, I submit with great interest my resume for consideration as an event worker at Memoire Events.

Having extensively worked as a ticket-taker, usher, and part of the directional staff, I have great experience in all areas of event management. Engaging guests in conversation to provide them with the accurate event and venue information, enforcing facility policies and procedures, and proactively handling issues and complaints, fall under the “natural talent” wing of my qualifications.

Last year, I was responsible for setting up and coordinating a huge part of the premiere of the movie Split, held at a local studio – an effort that was highly appreciated by the client and my supervisor. Possessing great coordination and the ability to effectively perform security services in and adjacent to the event facility are my prime vocations.

I look forward to interviewing with you soon. I will contact you next week to set up a meeting date and time of mutual convenience.

Sincerely,

Thomas Pinto
