1. How do you consider yourself skilled to work as a mechanical technician?
Over the past 6 years, I have developed and polished my skills in maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating mechanical and electromechanical equipment. In addition to this, I am highly skilled in installing, building, testing, and modifying components, parts and equipment, and systems for specified programs.
2. What has been your experience working as a mechanical technician all these years?
I have thoroughly enjoyed the work. Since there is just so much to learn in this job, every day is a new one with new challenges, and I love getting to work with machines and equipment since I know so much about the systems that they work on.
3. What do you think is the most important thing to look at when working as a mechanical technician?
I believe that knowing the work inside out before you venture into it is of great importance. Effectively reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions to correctly assemble equipment and hardware, is imperative in this work.
4. What challenges did you personally handle when first working as a mechanical technician?
While I was trained quite well in working with mechanical and electromechanical equipment, there was one certain system that I would always have trouble calibrating without help. I believe that this was the biggest challenge that I faced when I first began working in this capacity.
5. And how did you overcome this challenge?
I got embarrassed asking for help every time I was assigned to calibrate the system in question. I took a voluntary leave of 7 days and underwent a thorough training program to understand exactly how to run and calibrate the system.
6. Do you consider yourself a proactive individual? How?
I am definitely proactive. This can be proven through the fact that I have gone to great lengths to introduce 3 systems to the company that I am working for, which have effectively decreased many related issues, including compliance and equipment downtime.
