Early Childhood Teacher Cover Letter Sample

Updated on: October 17, 2021

Early school years are the most important in a child’s life as they provide a basis for future education.

Much importance is attributed to early childhood teachers as they are responsible for providing children with a strong base.

Early childhood teachers wear many hats; you need to be able to prepare effective lesson plans that will cater to the needs of the children under your care.

Since, in this role,  you will be responsible for children’s social and educational needs, you need to make sure that you teach them how to survive in society while providing them with conventional education.

Employers tend to favor candidates who possess some background or training in early childhood teaching.

If you are applying for a position as an early childhood teacher, your cover letter should reflect your ability to handle the physical, social and emotional needs of children.

Mr. William Homer
Principal
ABC School
20 E 36th Street
New York, NY 51900

Dear Mr. Homer:

All children should be provided with the opportunity and support to grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually. Keeping this philosophy in mind, I believe I am a cut above the rest of the candidates who have applied for the position of Early Childhood Teacher at the ABC School.

I had been working as an early childhood teacher for 3 years and developed many skills and capabilities regarding the early childhood curriculum. I am specially trained in developing age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans which would help in achieving the goals of Prairie School while promoting social and cognitive development in children. My prime focus as an early childhood teacher is to provide additional care to semi-dyslexic children to give them the confidence that they need to excel in a challenging world.

Possessing strong management skills, I can handle an entire class of children by exercising authority. I understand that teaching requires an individual to take on many avatars especially in the role of an early childhood instructor; I believe that I have mastered most of them during the last nine years at this position.

I am especially interested in working at ABC School as I am aware of its efforts and successes as an early childhood institute and I am confident that I have much to contribute. You will find my resume (enclosed) interesting, and I would like to meet with you to build upon the information that it holds.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
