Kitchen stewards are a part of a kitchen janitorial staff. They are expected to perform cleaning and sanitizing activities to ensure that the kitchen is in a workable state at all times. They are also expected to wash worktables and walls and ensure that all trash is taken out before it starts to rot. Kitchen stewards are always on their toes as they are expected to work as long as a restaurant is open.

A kitchen steward need not have a minimum education limit as his or her work does not demand it. However, employers prefer that some experience is eminent as providing training for this position can be quite cumbersome. The following cover letter sample will help you apply for a job as a kitchen steward.

Dear Mr. Irwin:

If you seek a new Kitchen Steward who is proficient in cresting and ensuring a fresh, clean and exciting environment in your kitchen, then we have a good reason to meet.

Maintaining an organized and clean kitchen is the basic need of an establishment and this is where my qualifications come in! I am extremely skilled in:

● Sweeping and moping kitchen floors
● Washing utensils, worktables, walls and refrigerators
● Scraping food from dirty dishes and washing them
● Removing trash and garbage

With my strong attention to detail, I ensure that no cleanliness work is left halfway and I have no problems in performing repetitive work. My physical dexterity is my greatest asset as it helps me in performing all my tasks in a quick and efficient manner. Moreover, I am well-versed in using cleaning chemicals in a safe manner and know just how much consistency is needed when mixing cleaning liquids.

Since there is much to talk about and this letter is not enough for me to put all my cards on the table, I would like to meet with you in person. I may be contacted at any time during the day to answer your questions.

Thank you for your time and thoughtfulness. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
