House Sitter Cover Letter Sample

Updated on: April 21, 2018

Employers like to delve into all aspects of a candidate’s personality. They need this information to understand if a candidate can be converted into an employee.

This is very important for them to do. And cover letters are a great way of doing this. Employers read cover letters to gauge if the house sitter has the capability to withstand the work pressure he will be given or if he will melt under it.

Looking through a house sitter cover letter, a seasoned employer can almost always tell if the candidate has the mettle that the company is looking for.

If not, then the cover letter is trashed – along with the accompanying resume. If you do not want this to happen to your cover letter and resume, start off on the right foot. Call out to your inner writer and prepare a cover letter that will knock the reader’s eyes out.

Easier said than done? Maybe.

But, if you do not try, how will you know if you can? Prepare notes first. What do you want to say? Is what you want to say credible? Can you back up your claims of being skilled by proof? All yes? Cool! Let us now get on with a sample cover letter – that of a house sitter:

Dear Ms. David:

If your clients are looking for a house sitter who is dependable, trustworthy, and conscientious and has the ability to handle adverse situations with tact, then I fit this description perfectly. I am aware of Sitters Incorporated’s reputation as the best and most trustworthy in Springfield, and I assure you that I have all that it takes to uphold this image.

Over the years, I have handled many house sitting jobs – some have been mundane, others were challenging. And it was working for the more challenging ones that have prepared me for all eventualities in this role. Some of my skills as a house sitter include:

• Adeptness at securing domestic buildings from the inside and the outside to ward off any nefarious activities
• Track record of handling / overseeing repair and maintenance work while homeowners are away
• Skilled at handling the feeding and grooming needs of house pets

I would like to meet with you soon, for which I will be in touch with your office after a few days. If you feel the need to contact me before we get a chance to meet, please call me at (000) 888-8888.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

(Signature)
