Put maximum information in your cover letter. It should evidently define your nursing experience, certification and education. Just saying that you are a ‘Registered Nurse’ will not qualify you for the interview. In view of the fact that a Registered Nurse can be a diploma nurse (without licensure and training) or a degree nurse (BSN or MSN) , you have to show your level of expertise to qualify for some organizations.

Make a covering letter of 3 to 4 paragraphs. The opening paragraph should identify the source where you heard about the position and  state your interest in the healthcare setting and RN position. The second and third paragraph usually explains how you can use your abilities and knowledge to assist their clinic or facility. Last paragraph usually reaffirms your enthusiasm and interest and contains the information about the follow-up steps you would take along with contact information.

In fact, your resume contains information regarding your experience, education and qualifications, and a cover letter complements the same. A good covering page can make the difference; pass your job application from the initial desk to the interview pile. Write your letter to show how you can place your specific nursing skills and compassionate nature to work effectively for the facility.
