However, it must be done professionally and you need to ensure that your new beginning is easy and the transition from one job to another is smooth. The first thing that you need to do after leaving your job is to ask for a recommendation letter.

To whom it may concern:

I strongly recommend Sara Chris for employment as a part of your waitressing team. She has shown to be an outstanding worker here at Sheng Feng’s Restaurant and we were regretful to hear that her career growth is taking her out of the region.

Sara was a marvellous addition to our restaurant from her first day. During the three years at Sheng Feng Restaurant, she worked dedicatedly and distinguished herself as a fast learner, capable worker and a brilliant young woman. Always on time, she often volunteered to cover the shifts of her colleagues when required.

Particularly, she distinguished herself in the following areas:

• Setting table plates, serviettes and condiments previous to the start of meals
• Arranging seats the guests when they get there, take their orders, and dish up food and beverages
• Clearing used crockery and put back table settings as soon as guests leave
• Serving individual portions or dishes and replenishing drinks

Over and above, Sara is good tempered, courageous person who always keep herself peaceful in hectic situations. On one particularly eventful night, during which two other waiters called in ill, I retain information she serving a dozen tables at once, keeping every patron happy.

It was quite a shock to find out that Sara could not work for us any more but I am happy that her talent will be utilized in another setting.

Again, I strongly recommend for a waitress position. Please call me on the number below if you have any questions that you may need answered about Sara and her accomplishments.

I wish her best of luck in her future endeavors.

Sincerely,
