Sample College Recommendation Letter From Teacher

Updated on: July 19, 2019

Recommendation letters from a school teacher are asked for by many colleges and are an essential part of the admission process.

As a teacher, it is your responsibility to help students get into college, and your letter will play a significant role in doing this.

Technically, this kind of letter details why a particular student is a good candidate for a specific program of the college.

You will want to write about his success in a similar program at school and his aptitude for a particular subject.

These will help admission officers decide how well a student will fit into the offered college program.

A college recommendation letter from a teacher focuses on two things – a student’s eligibility to apply for a specific college program and their traits.

Both these areas play a significant role in being selected for a college program, so recommendation letters need to be written with much care and precision.

To Whom It May Concern

I have had the pleasure of having Kimberly Marsh as a student at Belmont High School. Kimberly has been more than just an average student with her bright outlook to studies and her exceptional ability to pick up any subject and make it into an interesting educational project.

Belmont High School is famous for its challenging academics, and I am proud to say that Kimberly has not only fulfilled but also surpassed the academic expectations. As an intelligent student, she has continuously been on top of her class and has attained honors in Mathematics, English Literature and French in her Advanced Level’s. She would now like to pursue a college degree in English Literature, a feat that she is well prepared for.

Kimberly is energetic, enthusiastic and friendly not only with her peers but also with her teachers. She has been involved in many philanthropic activities within the school and outside and is a popular figure at the Megan Hope Senior Home. Unlike many students who are still unsure of which academic line they want to pursue, Kimberly is vocal about her love for English Literature and hopes to obtain a master’s degree eventually.

I strongly recommend Kimberly for the English Literature program at your college as I feel that she will prove to be a significant contributor. If you need a further endorsement from me, please feel free to call me at (111) 111-1111.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Hilary Duff
