Position Overview
Videographers are hired as either freelancers or permanent employees, depending on the projects that they are expected to work on.
They are responsible for capturing videos of events or operating video equipment for branding purposes.
Other projects that a videographer can take up include movies, company events, and music videos.

Position Requirements
Although there are no specific training requirements for a videographer’s position, it does help if you have acquired formal training.
For many people, the use of a video camera comes naturally due to an inherent talent for the work.
Nonetheless, one does have to learn how to use the technical aspects of video equipment which is why some training is important.
The biggest virtue of a videographer is patience!
One has to stand for long hours to make sure that the light is just right, and it can become quite cumbersome to get your subjects to act in a certain way – yes, most videographers do direct their own videos!
And this is one of the main reasons that some training in directing and filming videos does come in handy!
