The front desk area is of extreme importance within any organization. Visitors and clients usually judge an entire company through its front desk operations. This is where front desk managers’ role comes in; they are people who are responsible for ensuring that the front desk is running smoothly. They hire, train and place people to work at the front desk. They work in different environments including hotels, businesses and spas but the essence of their work remains the same regardless of their individual work setting.
Front desk managers are hired after much scrutiny as they need to be perfect in what they are doing. When an employer goes through a cover letter for a front desk manager’s position, he looks for information that will reflect the ability to handle high pressure and high volume work.

Dear Mr. Corby:
I had worked as a front desk manager at Hyatt for 2 years and as a front desk officer for 3 years prior to that. Therefore, I have the ability to manage all operations of front desk effectively.
I believe that working at the front desk is more than just work; it is learning as you meet people from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds. To be able to cater to all of them, and keeping in mind customer service standards, is a challenge and I believe that I have mastered it. I have a demonstrated ability to:
– Welcome and register guests
– Respond inquiries pertaining to employer’s policies and services
– Resolve clients’ complaints and concerns
– Hire, train and develop new staff members
– Collect payments
During my tenure as a Front Desk Manager at Hyatt, I ensured professional and friendly services at all times. I was called upon a few times to handle difficult complaints which I managed perfectly without losing patronage. My motivation stems from a successful day at work even in the face of adversity. Owing to excellence in providing a highest level of customer services, I received many commendations during my professional career.
I am available for an interview in the coming week and look forward to meeting with you soon. Thank you for your time and consideration.
