What qualifies you to work as a shift leader in our fast food establishment?
Not only do I have over 6 years of working as a shift leader at an international fast food restaurant, but I also possess great insight into managing crewmembers to ensure exceptional service delivery to customers. As someone who started out by working as a food preparer and crewmember in a similar establishment as yours, I believe that I know all there is to know about handling a shift in a busy restaurant.

What is one skill that you are most proud of, which makes it easy for you to work as a shift manager?
As someone who has an inherent love for meeting and interacting with new people, I believe my interpersonal skills are what makes things easy for me in this role. I am a natural at reaching out to people from different walks of life, and since one meets many kinds of people each day in the restaurant business, this comes in handy.

What do you see yourself after five years?
Ideally, I would love to own a restaurant within five years. That is my dream.

And what are you doing to make sure that this dream comes true?
I have recently enrolled myself in an evening hospitality course. I believe that acquiring this diploma will be the first step in making my dream come true.

As a shift leader, what have been your main duties in this role?
Scheduling crewmembers’ duties, monitoring their work, especially customer interaction and food preparation, ensuring that food hygiene and sanitation practices are followed according to protocol, managing inventories, and handling customers’ complaints are just some of the main duties that I have performed in a shift leader role previously.

What do you know about cash handling duties associated with your work?
As a shift leader, it is my responsibility to ensure that each cash register is balanced at the end of the shift, and any discrepancies are resolved. I am proficient in handling both these duties, along with processing cash and credit card payments, and creating correlating reports.
