Admissions recruiters work for educational institutes where their main job is to reach out to the eligible student population and select and recruit them for courses and programs offered by the college or university.

2. What type of skills are important when working as an admissions recruiter?

As an admissions recruiter, the first and foremost skill that you have to possess is the ability to communicate professionally. Since you have to create and implement a wide variety of marketing and outreach programs, it is also important for one to possess exceptional marketing skills and the ability to convince people to enroll in a certain program or course.

Also, working as an admissions recruiter can be a tiring job so one must be physically fit – outreach events and follow-up duties can take a lot out of an individual!

3. How would you justify the role of publications in admissions recruitment work?

One of the major tasks that admissions recruiters perform is outreach activities for which publications such as letters, brochures, website postings, and electronic mail are used. Hence, publications make up a large portion of an admissions recruiter’s work.

4. Tell us of one achievement that you have to your name, which makes you extremely proud of.

Over the 4 years that I have worked as an admissions recruiter, I have had many accomplishments to my name. However, the one achievement that I am extremely proud of is the implementation of a dedicated outreach program for students coming from low-income backgrounds.

The success of this project was tremendous as we managed to recruit all 500 students that were initially required and also arranged for college fees for all of them for the entire program!
