Position Overview

Adjunct faculty members are part time faculty members at schools, colleges or universities. They are usually hired on temporary/visiting basis and may be paid a stipend depending on their individual place of work. While some institutions accept adjunct faculty members with a bachelor’s degree, most of them require a master’s or PHD degree.

Adjunct Faculty Resume Tips

The old fashioned, generic resume format along with its tiring and tedious list of responsibilities held in previous roles and dense text blocks communicating the candidate’s competencies in form of long paragraphs are no longer useful. The modern era is that of highly customized and achievement-focused resumes.

Start your resume with an executive summary or targeted objective statement and use power verbs. Mention some of your selected competencies and achievements in your summary since this is your best shot of having an excellent first impression on the reader. Choose a clear layout that is easy to the reader’s eyes. Make sure you proofread your resume twice or thrice before sending it.
